Kevin Harvick wins NASCAR Nationwide Series event Auto racing
Kevin Harvick overcame two horrendous pit stops to win the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Harvick led 83 of the 200 laps in the Sam's Town 300 Saturday, but had to rally after his crew cost him several spots on pit road.
"You look like a bunch of idiots on pit road," the driver told his Kevin Harvick Inc. crew after their first slow stop.
Harvick had to methodically work his way back through the field, and found himself trailing leader Denny Hamlin late in the race. Once past Hamlin, Harvick coasted to his second career victory in Las Vegas and 35th in the Nationwide Series.
"I get mad, and they know how I am and what I expect of them," Harvick said in victory lane. "But I learned a long time ago you can only gripe about it for so long, and then you've got to go back and drive the car."
Hamlin was second and Carl Edwards was third. Greg Biffle of Vancouver, Wash., was ninth of 43.
Danica Patrick finished 36th in her third and final NASCAR race before she takes a four-month hiatus to return to IndyCar racing.
She wrecked about halfway through the race when she ran into the lapped car of Michael McDowell. Patrick had recently pitted and was on fresh tires, and McDowell said he misjudged her closing rate.
"I guess she was coming out on new tires, and the closing rate was so fast," McDowell said. "I tried to give the outside, I saw her coming into it and I closed the door. It was completely, 100 percent my fault. I hate it for everyone at JR Motorsports."
Patrick, who had climbed as high as third earlier in the race, was miffed on the radio and uttered a few profanities immediately after the accident.
Back in the garage, she was biting in her assessment of the accident.
"I guess I should have noticed the tape on his left-rear bumper. I probably shouldn't have been near his left-rear bumper," Patrick said. "Sure enough, he turned down and took us both out. What are you going to do?ries event | Auto racing

with Jennifer Lopez Neil Patrick Harris's TwitPic
Jennifer Lopez has always laughed off the rumors that her derriere is insured for $1 billion, but there's no doubt about her assets. Her first starring role in 1997's Selena showcased her talents as an actress and singer – but it was those tight costumes and the curves they revealed that made her a sex symbol.
That breakthrough performance launched a multifaceted career that includes albums, movies, clothes and perfume. But it was Lopez's love life with music mogul Sean ''Diddy'' Combs and actor Ben Affleck that catapulted her into tabloid headlines. After the rocky, high-profile engagement that was "Bennifer" ended, Lopez quietly married Latin singer Marc Anthony. In February 2008, after months of baby bump sightings, Lopez and Anthony welcome twins, a boy named Max and a girl named Emme.
Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969), popularly nicknamed J.Lo, is an American actress, singer, record producer, dancer, model, fashion and perfume designer and film and television producer. She is the richest person of Latin American descent in Hollywood according to Forbes, and the most influential Hispanic entertainer in America according to People en EspaƱol’s list of “100 Most Influential Hispanics”.
Starting in 1999, Lopez released seven albums, including two #1 albums on the Billboard 200 charts and four Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles. She won the 2003 American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and the 2007 American Music Award for Favorite Latin Artist. She has appeared in numerous films, and has won ALMA Awards for outstanding actress for her work in Selena, Out of Sight, and Angel Eyes. She parlayed her media fame into a fashion line and various perfumes with her celebrity endorsement.
Media attention has also focused on her personal life. She has had high-profile relationships with Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, Sean Combs, Ben Affleck, and Marc Anthony. Her first children, fraternal twins named Max and Emme, were born on February 22, 2008.
Jennifer Lopez was born and grew up in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents Guadalupe Rodriguez and David Lopez. She has two sisters, Lynda and Leslie.

Overwhelmed winner Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart admits she was “overwhelmed” to win prizes at both the BAFTA Awards and the Elle Style Awards this week.
Kristen Stewart is “overwhelmed” by winning two awards in two days.
The ‘Twilight’ actress, who picked up the Orange Rising Star honour at the BAFTA Awards on Sunday (21.02.10) and Woman Of The Year at the Elle Style Awards on Monday (22.02.10), is struggling to get her head around landing the accolades at such a young age.
She said: “You go from the BAFTAs to the Elle Style Awards winning Woman Of The Year at 19 which is just an insane concept so I am pretty overwhelmed.”
Kristen admitted she finds it particularly difficult accepting awards because it means giving a speech to a room full of people she admires.
She added: “I would never get used to something like that. A room full of people that you are so overwhelmingly... admiration isn't even a word that's enough.
“It's like there's such an overwhelming respect for everyone in the room and you feel so small, not in a bad way, it puts such an extreme dose of perspective to stand up there and speak to these people.”

"The vote really captured the imagination of people from across the world and, despite my lack of gaming knowledge, I accept that a majority of 89 per cent for Lara Croft is too overwhelming to ignore," The BBC quoted Councillor Lucy Care, cabinet member for planning and transportation, as saying.
"She was created in Derby and deserves to stand alongside some of the more traditional icons of the city.
"The vote for Mercian Way is also testimony to the passionate local support shown for the servicemen and women serving right now so I''m pleased that there will be a lasting legacy to honour them in what will be the biggest change to Derby''s inner road network in 30 years," Care added.

FASHION TRENDS IN THE WORLD OF SPORTS
The new age sportsperson is as conscious about fashion as about fitness. Be it the professional circuit, weekend sports or exercise circles, fashion has become an integral part of sports.
The new age sportsperson is as conscious about fashion as about fitness. Be it the professional circuit, weekend sports or exercise circles, fashion has become an integral part of sports.
Kids and teenagers are fast emulating their favourite sportspersons not just in their style of play but also in the way they dress.
In fact, Sania Mirza recently became the first Indian sportsperson to have her own signature collection, for the Italian apparel brand Lotto.
"With the Sharapovas and the Williams the tennis courts have become a place where you display a lot of fashion and make a lot of fashion statements. This is great for sports and for tennis," Mirza said.
"I am a very casual and relaxed with my clothes." She added.
The designers too have started taking an interest in who's wearing what on the pitches, courts, greens and tracks.
These include Manish Arora, who has joined up with Reebok to launch 'Fish Fry', a blend of sporting comfort and haute couture.
Major brands are now laying emphasis on colours, materials and styling.
Style guide
According to our style guide, the classic white of course is never out of fashion in summer, but this season, the emphasis is just as much on bright solid colours, neat cuts and reflective fabrics so that you can beat the heat.
Semi fitted sportswear with an element of stretch is essential for that unrestricted movement on the field.
Every sport requires its own kind of shoe. Air filled footwear is the vogue now for that extra bounce and agility.
And the most essential part of the attire is accessories - a lot of them from wristbands to head bands to colourful beads and even drop earrings for the girls.
Of course, fashion in sports also responds to the big events of the time, so even if you don't particularly care for football, this would be a good time to pull out your Beckham and Ronaldo jerseys.
And of course the latest trend in sport these days is simply buying the merchandising on the internet.

From The Runaways New Kristen Stewart Photo
March is just around the corner, and on the 19th of next month we’ll see Kristen Stewart spend a good chunk of time doing her best Joan Jett impersonation. The young actress can be seen in theaters this weekend in the limited release The Yellow Handkerchief, but if punk rock biopics are more your style you might want to wait for The Runaways. A new photo has been released of Miss Stewart in character as Jett with her black mullet and all, take a look…
The Runaways were one of the greatest punk bands to come out of the 1970s Los Angeles music scene. Not only was their music legendary, but they were one of the only successful female groups in the male dominated genre. Their music was off the charts and so was their lifestyle. The film focuses on the duo of guitarist/vocalist Joan Jett and lead vocalist Cherie Currie as they deal with fame, drugs, and abuse all before their 18th birthdays.
In this latest photo from the film we see a barely dressed Joan Jett rocking out in her guitar in a rundown bedroom. The actress definitely mastered the semi-cracked out look the band had back in the day, and if she can do some decent guitar miming we might have a winner.

David Alexander Paterson (born May 20, 1954) is the 55th and current Governor of New York. He is the first governor of New York of African American heritage and also the second legally blind governor of any U.S. state after Bob C. Riley, who was Acting Governor of Arkansas for eleven days in January 1975.
After graduating from Hofstra Law School, Paterson worked in the District Attorney's office of Queens County, New York, and on the staff of Manhattan Borough President David Dinkins. In 1985, he was elected to the New York State Senate to a seat that was once held by his father, former New York Secretary of State Basil Paterson. In 2003, he rose to the position of Senate Minority Leader. Paterson was selected as running mate by then-New York Attorney General and Democratic Party nominee Eliot Spitzer in the 2006 New York gubernatorial election.
Spitzer and Paterson were elected in November 2006 with 69 percent of the vote, and Paterson took office as Lieutenant Governor on January 1, 2007.
When Spitzer resigned in the wake of a prostitution scandal, Paterson was sworn in as governor of New York on March 17, 2008.
As Governor of New York, Paterson has reportedly received lower approval ratings than any other New York governor has received. Paterson will run for Governor of New York in 2010.

Lacy Schnoor's news update
Lacy Schnoor was a gymnast until an Olympic out-reach program showed her the opportunities to be an Olympic aerialist. She's still new to the sport, but her gymnastics upbringing and her passion for aerials are a good combination in keeping her moving toward the World Cup. Exhibit A: 2005 U.S. aerials gold medalist.
Lacy had one of her best seasons ever on the World Cup tour in 2009 as she added two more top-10 results to her resume, as well as a career best seventh place at the World Championships in Japan. Lacy finished her season with a third place finish at the U.S. Championships. She will be looking use her newfound success to push her as she makes a bid for one of the coveted Olympic spots in 2010.
Schnoor sealed the deal at U.S. Olympic Trials in Steamboat, CO, winning a spot on the 2010 Olympic Team. Schnoor has continued to perform well adding several top ten finishes while she fine tunes her tricks for Vancouver.
A recreational skier at 6, the ex-gymnast was recruited to freestyle when an Olympic out-reach program came to her middle school before the 2002 Winter Games. "They asked me to go to an aerials camp and I just kept going ... I like the rush when you go off the jumps," she explained. Her childhood gymnastics training is a huge plus, according to coaches, who fast-tracked her to upper-level training. She started in '02, injured a knee in '03 and by 2005 was aerials national champion.
Mom's a nurse, Dad's a geophysicist for Kennecott, and she has two sisters and a brother...An Honor Roll student and state gymnastics champ, she also was a cheerleader and ran hurdles in high school before focusing on aerials...Schnoor also enjoys boating, hiking and (still) recreational skiing...In the summer of 2003, she roomed with Jana Lindsey, who also was rehabbing after knee surgery...

Nancy Kerrigan's brother freed on bail in dad's death
The brother of skater Nancy Kerrigan, charged with assault and battery in an incident involving his father, was released on bond, authorities said Wednesday.
Mark Kerrigan posted the previously set $10,000 bail and was released from custody, according to the Woburn District Court Clerk's office in Massachusetts.
Kerrigan, 45, was fitted with a tracking device and under conditions of his release is not allowed to leave his home other than to visit his attorney, the clerk's office said. He also is forbidden to use any drugs or alcohol other than prescription medication, can have no access to weapons and must have mental health counseling.
"The Kerrigan family is delighted to have Mark back with them," family spokeswoman Nancy Sterling said in a statement. "They ask that you respect their privacy as they welcome Mark home."
He was arraigned in January and pleaded not guilty to charges he assaulted his father, Daniel Kerrigan, 70. The elder Kerrigan died January 24 after an alleged altercation with his 45-year-old son at the family's home in Stoneham, Massachusetts.
Mark Kerrigan, through his attorney, has denied any responsibility in his father's death.
Daniel Kerrigan's death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, but Middlesex County prosecutors have not said whether other charges might be filed against the younger Kerrigan in light of the finding.
The Kerrigan family has said, in a statement released through their attorney, that they believe the medical examiner's finding to be "premature and inaccurate."
"The Kerrigan family does not blame anyone for the unfortunate death of Dan Kerrigan, who had a pre-existing heart condition," said the family statement, released by attorney Tracy Miner.
According to Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Keeley, police responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:30 a.m. January 24 from Brenda Kerrigan, wife of Daniel and mother to Mark and Nancy Kerrigan.
Keeley told District Court Judge Mark Sullivan during the arraignment for Mark Kerrigan that there was a violent argument and struggle between the father and his son, resulting in the elder Kerrigan falling or collapsing on the kitchen floor. Keeley said that Mark Kerrigan told authorities "that he did in fact have an argument with his father, the argument became physical, he grabbed his father around the neck, and at some point the father collapsed to the floor."
According to Keeley, police found Mark Kerrigan in the basement of the house, "clearly intoxicated" and "extremely combative." He refused to comply with police officers, said Keeley, and they had to subdue him with pepper spray before forcibly removing him from the home.
Mark Kerrigan's attorney, Denise Moore, said in court that Kerrigan was unemployed, was recently released from a correctional facility and was living at home with his parents. He is taking medications and seeking psychological help for post-traumatic stress, apparently from his time in the Army, she added.
Nancy Kerrigan first gained prominence by winning a bronze medal at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. In 1994 she earned an Olympic silver medal in Lillehammer, Norway.
She is perhaps best remembered for surviving an attack before the 1994 Winter Games by skating rival Tonya Harding's ex-husband and an accomplice.

Today's News ESPN Suspends Host Tony Kornheiser for Bashing Fellow Anchor Hannah Storm
Tony Kornheiser, host of ESPN’s weekday show Pardon The Interruption, has been suspended from the network for two weeks starting Monday, after bad-mouthing Hannah Storm’s choice of clothing, according to USA Today. On Friday, Kornheiser called what the ESPN anchor wore a “horrifying outfit” with “red go-go boots” and a skirt that was “way too short for somebody her age.”
He added: “She’s what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point.” Kornheiser made the comments Friday on ESPN’s Washington, D.C., affiliate. ESPN executive vice president John Skipper said in a statement that the comments were “entirely inappropriate.
Hurtful and personal comments such as these are not acceptable and have significant consequences.” Since the incident, Kornheiser has both apologize on-air as well as to Storm personally and said that he wouldn’t be talking about the mishap in interviews.
The 67-year-old Kornheiser, known for his caustic remarks, said the 47-year-old Storm looked like "a Holden Caulfield fantasy" when she wore a skirt he described as "way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now."
"She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body," he said. "I know she's very good, and I'm not supposed to be critical of ESPN... But Hannah Storm today? Come on now. Stop. What are you doing?"
Kornheiser apologized for his comments the next day on his radio show.
"I'm a sarcastic, subversive guy...I'm a troll, look at me. I have no right to insult what anybody looks like or what anybody wears. That, I think, should go without saying," he said.

Rihanna's Happy 22nd Birthday
After attending numerous runway shows, Rihanna developed an edgier sense of dressing — who can forget those star shaped pasties — and started donning clothes and accessories from the likes of Chanel, Alexander Wang, and Rodarte, to name a few.
Enter into the world of Rihanna. Since 2005, the Barbadian beauty caught my attention with her catchy songs, and even more so, her megawatt style.
When Rihanna first hit the scene, she stayed within the sexy singer realm via colorful body-con frocks and separates. As the years went along, she took a turn towards high fashion.
Despite a tough year, the songstress continues to impress me with her daring in-your-face ensembles and experimental hairdos. Let's take a look at Rihanna's astounding fashion metamorphosis.

If there's specific resistance to women making movies, I just choose to ignore that as an obstacle for two reasons: I can't change my gender, and I refuse to stop making movies. It's irrelevant who or what directed a movie, the important thing is that you either respond to it or you don't. There should be more women directing; I think there's just not the awareness that it's really possible. It is.
If you hold a mirror up to society, and you don't like what you see, you can't fault the mirror. It's a mirror. I think that on the eve of the millennium, a point in time only four years from now, the clock is ticking, the same social issues and racial tensions still exist, the environment still needs reexamination so you don't forget it when the lights come up.
Strange Days (1995) is provocative. Without revealing too much, I would say that it feels like we are driving toward a highly chaotic, explosive, volatile, Armageddon-like ending. Obviously, the riot footage came out of the LA riots. I mean, I was there. I experienced that.
I was part of the cleanup afterwards, so I was very aware of the environment. I mean, it really affected me. It was etched indelibly on my psyche. So, obviously, some of the imagery came from that. I don't like violence. I am very interested, however, in truth. And violence is a fact of our lives, a part of the social context in which we live. But other elements of the movie are love and hope and redemption. Our main character throws up after seeing this hideous experience. The toughest decision was not wanting to shy away from anything, trying to keep the truth of the moment, of the social environment. It's not that I condone violence.
I don't. It's an indictment. I would say the film is cautionary, a wake-up call, and that I think is always valuable.
I always want to make films. I think of it as a great opportunity to comment on the world in which we live. Perhaps just because I just came off The Hurt Locker (2008) and I'm thinking of the war and I think it's a deplorable situation. It's a great medium in which to speak about that.
This is a war that cannot be won, why are we sending troops over there? Well, the only medium I have, the only opportunity I have, is to use film. There will always be issues I care about.
You cast not for marquee value but for performance and talent. The right actor for the part. Anything else is a compromise.
War's dirty little secret is that some men love it. I'm trying to unpack why, to look at what it means to be a hero in the context of 21st-century combat.

Kim Kardashian: Getting Annoying Are The Engagement Questions
When just you thought Scott Disick's debauchery drunken on last week's Keeping Up wait until he crashes Kourtney's baby shower in the finale,With Kardashians couldn't get any worse! TVGuide.com caught up with Kim Kardashian to get the scoop on how the new parents are faring, how she likes being an aunt and what question she hates having to answer.
I hope it would be a surprise. It will happen when it's ready for us. I think we're both in a really good relationship and having fun. I've been married before for four years. I got married at 19. I just don't want to make any more mistakes and want to take my time with it.
We had this business meeting and dinner, and my mom worked so hard to get him a job. It was just a little bit frustrating to see all that just go down the drain. What were you thinking when Scott showed up drunk at your birthday in last week's episode?
Kim Kardashian: I was just thinking, "Poor Kourtney. She has to deal with this when she's pregnant." It wasn't really about me and my birthday.
That can be tough in a relationship. Obviously, your family is important and you want them to like the person you're with. Scott's young. Kourtney's five years older than him, so I think it's just his age.
Kardashian: I think she's seen Kourtney unhappy a little bit, so she just wants the best for her. And when Kourtney is happy and things are better, my mom just holds a grudge and can't get over it.
Kourtney seemed to be done with Scott at the end of episode. How are things now?
Kardashian: They're trying to make it work for the family. Scott's grown up a lot and this baby has changed him for the better. I would say they've learned a lot from all of their experiences together.
Kardashian: You'll see Kourtney's baby shower, and Scott will crash the baby shower. And then you see the birth of Mason, which was amazing. We all were there.
TVGuide.com: How's life as an aunt?
Kardashian: It's amazing. But yesterday we were changing him and he pooped all over me and threw up on me. It was a tough day with him. He was fussy and crying, and he's usually the best baby. It was rare to see him cry.
Kourtney a mother and people constantly asking you when you're going to get engaged, do you feel pressure about moving to the next step in your relationship?
Kardashian: I don't feel pressure; it's just getting annoying. We laugh it off and I guess it's kind of flattering people are rooting for us.
Kardashian: I have a fragrance that came out this month and is available exclusively at Sephora. And this Sunday, after the finale of Keeping Up, is a new special I'm producing called The SPINdustry. It's a behind-the-scenes look at PR and celebrity branding, and it follows a PR firm called Command PR.
They throw events and get press for parties and every episode will have a different celebrity featured. I really liked being behind the camera, sharing my ideas and seeing it all come to life.

Lenny Kravitz's concert in Bosnia was greeted with a large turnout
The rock star thanked his audience in the former Yugoslav republic on Thursday for shelling out 15 euros, equal to $21, for the cheap seats, a weighty sum in a country burdened by 40 percent unemployment and where the average salary is about 400 euros, or $570 a month.
"I love and respect you for that," he told the 6,000 fans who gathered at his two-hour show in the Bosnian Serb city of Banja Luka, where he played such hits as "American Woman" and "Mama Said." He also played Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," in tribute to the late superstar.
The turnout was remarkable for an event that wasn't a political gathering or an economic protest. The country's economy has never recovered from the 1992-95 war, which left thousands dead in a campaign of "ethnic cleansing" at the hands of the Bosnian Serbs.
The country's leadership has squabbled for years over ethnic differences, halting prospects of joining the European Union and leaving the country's people feeling isolated, and unable to travel freely in the rest of Europe.
Over the last two decades, Bosnia has received rare visits from stars such as U2 and Jamiroquai, both of whom appeared in Sarajevo.
The regional government-sponsored visit by Kravitz, and a later free show by the British rock band Kosheen that drew 10,000 people, offered an unusual opportunity for an experience that is everyday in the rest of Europe.
"This is the best night of my life," said bank clerk Dragana Kunic, 28. "I went to Lenny's concert and now I'm listening to Kosheen live. I couldn't ask for more."
